WAGS 12.12 2018 Vale Fuzeiros - Rod Again!

Our International Team of Bloggers were covering events in Hong Kong and Macao and in Cornwall, and London, so it remained for Rod to compose a concise summary (in green) of the WAGS efforts on 12th December at Vale de Fuzeiros:

Bordering on limits of WAGS parameters in terms of numbers, distance, time and cumulative height gain, 16 good folk turned out at Cafe Silva in Vale de Fuzeiros .

The starters in front of an Olive bush. One or two unexpected would-be WAGS but the numbers are getting quite large . More on this later.

Present were Terry & Jill, Gita & Thyl & Norbert, Lindsey,  Janet, Ingrid, Hilke, Peter S, Chris & Antje, Yves, Terry M, Antony & Rod. The walk was one completed a year or so ago but with a slightly more energetic bit thrown in at the end taking in the ridge with the Neolithic menhirs. This was optional and about half the company took the shorter route home. Cafe Silva was full of pre Christmas lunch revellers and were not too enthusiastic about serving tostas but those nearing starvation were able to acquire a sandwich.

A ViewRanger track was produced:-

The devoted may wish to compare it with the similar walk just over a year ago which can be found     HERE

And for uniformity, Antony has sent a number of pictures taken during the walk. WARNING Some may be of an artistic nature and may shock blog readers who are more accustomed to pictures of WAGS doing silly things!

A panorama to start. No idea where from but Antony knows. Perhaps he will include notes in the comments section where necessary!

The verdant Algarve in winter. Photographer lagged behind and perhaps missed some riveting conversational gems during his absence.

Yves wondering if he has just pulled off Lot's trick!!

Once a decision is made  implement it!

The photographer got ahead here. Coming up through Amoreiras if I am not mistaken.

Yellow Eucalyptus flowers (ask Lindsey for the Latin name!)

Bishop's Mitre peppers?

A 'Phoenix 'Palm - rising from the ashes

Anyone looking for the toilet?

The final metres to Cafe Silva

A bearded young snapper called Tony
Could never be described as 'too bony'.
He thought he would try it-
And went on a diet
But his declared loss of weight was just phony!!
